Arthritis is an inflammatory condition that affects more than three million Americans each year. There are many different types of arthritis, from rheumatoid to psoriatic, each of which can affect a person’s quality of life due to joint pain. For those who are looking for more holistic ways to manage or relieve pain, here are just a few ways in which you might be able to get back to your old self:  

CBD oil for holistic pain relief

Cannabidiol has been on the rise within the past ten years, and for a good reason. CBD oil acts as a holistic form of pain relief due to its anti-inflammatory properties and interaction with neurotransmitters that perceive pain. Many people have found that ingesting a daily dose of CBD through tinctures works best for quick relief. As always, be sure to check with your doctor before trying CBD oil for yourself.

Exercise with low-impact activities

Staying active is key in keeping arthritis pain at bay to keep your joints from stiffening and a great way to be in shape. Low-impact exercises can range from tai chi to swimming or even cycling. Exercising for about 30 to 45 minutes every day helps keep inflammation to a minimum and especially helps with heart health. Any activity that minimizes impact on your joints is perfect, do what works best for you. 

Create a diet rich in anti-inflammatory foods and spices

For a majority of people, inflammation tends to be induced by consuming inflammatory foods. The best way to combat arthritis pain is by building a diet rich in foods with vitamin K. Following the Mediterranean diet is known for helping with inflammation due to the emphasis on fresh, whole foods with many vitamins and minerals to keep your body healthy.

For an added punch, season your dishes with turmeric, ginger and garlic to further prevent any flare-ups. Not only do these each have anti-inflammatory properties, but they also contain antioxidants to help further fight free radicals within the body. Add a dash of turmeric to a side dish of green vegetables or chicken-based meals for an undetectable anti-inflammatory effect.  

Be sure to check with your doctor before trying out any of these solutions. What works for most people does not necessarily work for all. Keep yourself healthy doing what your body prefers.
