The month of October 2021 is marked by several planets in retrograde, with Mercury leading the way. Each astrological sign will feel this in a different way and will be processing different lessons. Check out the path your sign will be navigating in October.

Aries

“Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in again,” Michael Corleone said in the unfortunate third drop of “Godfather.” Things were starting to look good, but Mercury just had to retrograde in your partnership and marriage house, scrambling signals right and left. Be vigilant with communication and bide your time.

Taurus

“You’re not dying. You just can’t think of anything good to do,” said Ferris Bueller to his best friend and partner in crime, Cameron. With Mercury retro in your sixth house of health and wellness, getting out of bed might be a challenge. Self-care and reflection are calling.

Gemini

“Well, what if there is no tomorrow? There wasn’t one today,” said Phil Connors in “Groundhog Day.” Your love life and your creative life might be feeling like you’re reliving the past. Give it time. What might seem like reruns may turn into happily ever after.

Cancer

“Here lies Walter Fielding. He bought a house and it killed him,” said Walter from the movie “The Money Pit.” Having Mercury retrograde in your fourth house is your least fav transit, since you are such a home-loving crabby. Your home is your haven, but it could be breakdowns and emo bust-ups. Protect your gentle heart.

Leo

“It’s called double jeopardy. I learned a few things in prison, Nick. I could shoot you in the middle of Mardi Gras and they can’t touch me,” said Libby in the movie “Double Jeopardy.” While it’s true that having Mercury (planet of communication) moving backwards in your house of communication is major double jeopardy, you can use this transit to dig deep and make some life changes.

Virgo

There’s a famous scene in the movie “Ghost” when the killer (spoiler alert) played by Tony Goldwyn checks his account and finds all of the stolen money is gone. I’m not saying Whoopi Goldberg and Patrick Swayze are opening a can of whoop-on-your-butt, but let’s just say you need to keep an eye on your accounts this month.

Libra

In the movie “Shallow Hal,” Jack Black plays Hal, a man so shallow he has to be hypnotized in order to date a heavy woman, who, through his boggled eyes, he sees as a very thin woman. You might relate, as people just aren’t seeing you for who and what you are until the end of October.

Scorpio

“My mama always said you got to put your past behind you to move on,” said Forrest Gump. Having Mercury retro in your twelfth house of healing is actually kind of cool for an intense soul like yourself. More time and space for retrospection and healing. Where do I sign up? It might get a bit intense and more gunk than you expected might be purged, but be gentle with yourself.

Sagittarius

It might be time for a digital detox, Archers. In HBO’s popular “White Lotus,” a character is dragged kicking and screaming to Hawaii, loses his phone but eventually succumbs to the beauty of the island. With Mercury turning backwards in your house of social activity, you need a break from Facebook, TikTok and Instagram.

Capricorn

In the movie “Broadcast News,” there’s a scene where Albert Brooks gets a once in a lifetime opportunity to anchor an evening news event. The uber smart, ultra-refined Brooks sits in the anchor chair and begins to sweat like there’s no tomorrow, destroying his one shot at being a network news anchor. Maybe it might not be that bad, but your work zone is being challenged, so being forewarned is forearmed.

Aquarius

“My teacher tells me beauty is on the inside,” said Max in “Liar, Liar.” Jim Carrey’s character Fletcher responded, “That’s just something ugly people say.” Jim Carrey’s Fletcher cannot tell a lie. It makes for good comedy, but not a good thing IRL, believe me. And with Mercury retrograde in your ninth house, you might be suffering from foot in mouth disease.

Pisces

There’s a sentimental chick flick called “The Best of Me” where a pair of former high school sweethearts reunite after many years when they return to visit their small hometown. But think twice before sliding back in time and into the arms of a past love. Mercury retrograde has a funny way of giving us nostalgia and amnesia at the same time.
