As people are looking to have their travel plans return to “normal” in light of the months-long COVID-19 pandemic, cutting-edge tech company, Nevotek, is releasing new technology to help streamline the hospitality business for both employees and guests. It’s no shock that hotels are among some of the businesses hardest hit amidst the pandemic, and they’re looking to bounce back through contactless instant messaging and control solutions from Nevotek.

How is Nevotek changing the hotel business?

The contactless and instant messaging service, named “Grace”, is meant not only to keep guests and hotel staff safe, but also increase efficiency in administering services to guests. The way Grace works is through existing instant messaging applications such as “WhatsApp”, Facebook “Messenger”, “WeChat”, etc., as opposed to guests having to download a separate application on their smartphone or tablet. The feature is multi-lingual and ready to be used by any guest during their stay.

Messaging apps such as WeChat, are helping bring Nevotek's "Grace" to life in hotels.

Grace allows for the guest to simply send a text message to the front desk requesting whatever they may need, such more towels. The messages will be routed to members of the hotel staff that will be directly able to fulfill the request. Guests will only need to text “2 extra towels” or “extra pillow” in order to have either desired item promptly delivered to their room.

The messaging app will also allow hotels to track statistics of guest requests. For example, if nearly every guest is asking for extra towels, hotel management and housekeeping will know to start stocking more towels in each room depending on the number of registered guests per room.

In addition to the Grace messaging function in hotels, Nevotek is also introducing a contactless function for the television remote, room service, in-room telephone and even wake-up call service through the “NevoTouchless” function. By simply scanning the QR code presented on the hotel room’s television screen, guests are able to avoid touching the remote when they want to turn on the TV or change the channel or the in-room telephone for ordering room service.

Together, Grace and NevoTouchless work to protect both guests and hospitality employees as they work in conjunction to minimize the amount of time spent in face-to-face interactions, including hotel check-in and check-out. Who wouldn’t want to stay in a hotel now with this new technology at your fingertips?
