Talking Easter Eggs?
Free Community Activity
Imagine a child, blind or visually impaired, that cannot participate in an Easter eggs hunt because they are unable to see the eggs. Not Lighthouse of Collier’s youth. On Saturday, April 15, 2017, from 10 am to 1 pm, Lighthouse of Collier is teaming up with Royal Scoop at their 23rd Annual Royal Scoop Easter Egg Hunt and Games.
The sounds of talking eggs will provide a wonderful Easter egg hunt for the children in the area who are blind or visually impaired. The talking eggs say, “I’m Hiding!” “You Hoo come find me” and “You found me.” The children will receive a special treat for each egg found.
The festivities begin at 10 am, and at 11 am the Easter Egg Hunts begin. After the hunt, there will be games, a relay race, an ice cream eating contest and Burger & Dogs for lunch. Come out and enjoy the fun. The event will be held in the church field across from Royal Scoop on Vanderbilt Drive in Bonita Springs. Be sure to bring your own Easter Basket!
Each month Lighthouse of Collier offers a Saturday program and an annual summer camp for the children in Collier County who are blind and visually impaired. Camp starts on July 5, 2017. If interested, please call 239-430-3934 for more details.
The mission of the Lighthouse of Collier is to promote the development, implementation and on-going evaluation of programs and services which foster independence and enhance the quality of life for the blind, visually impaired and their caregivers.
