It’s almost winter, so the snowbirds are getting ready to migrate south. No, we don’t mean real birds, but rather the more than 1 million Americans and Canadians who spend winter months in warmer climates in the southern U.S.

FinanceBuzz evaluated 183 cities across 23 snowbird-friendly metrics and determined the top 25 best cities for those escaping the colder weather:

• Naples, Florida is the best city for snowbirds.
• Nine of the top 10 best cities for snowbirds are located in Florida (see Top 10 list below).
• Three other states (Alabama, Georgia, and Texas) have multiple cities that rank in the top 25.
• Carson City, Nevada received the highest culture & recreation scores of any snowbird city. It features the second-most museums and golf courses per capita of any city evaluated.
• The Villages, FL had the highest percentage of people ages over 60 in the U.S., as well as the most golf courses per capita.
